U-16 camp for AFC Qualifiers kick-off

The U-16 India boys began their preparation for the AFC U-16 Qualifiers at the Conscient Football Campus in the Heritage School in Gurgaon. Head Coach Thomas Joseph, assisted by coaches C.M. Ranjit & Mario, trained the boys as they acclimatised themselves to the new surroundings. The team stressed on fitness drills while having match practice at the same time.
India have been clubbed in Group C along with Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bahrain, and Krygyzstan. Head Coach Thomas Joseph said, “It’s a tough group. Uzbekistan are the favourites from our group. We need to play to our strength.”
The squad will be leaving for Tashkent on September 29.
Joseph was very much appreciative about the practice facilities at the campus. “The grounds are well-maintained and conducive for good football. We are impressed with the facility provided to us,” he said.
‘Conscient Football’ had earlier played host to India’s U-23 camps and will host an AFC ‘C’ Licence Course later this month.
